Pentax Goes Against The Current And Will Release A New Film Camera

Digital camera sales have been hit hard since smartphones began to come equipped with cameras. Now most users are satisfied with phone cameras and no longer buy digital cameras. However, interest in film phones has recently resurged due to the movement of analog photography enthusiasts. Ricoh this week announced they will return to producing film cameras under the Pentax brand.

According to Pentax, this new camera will target veteran film photography enthusiasts as well as the new generation Z who are fiddling with technology that was considered antiquated when they were born. In addition to film cameras, Pentax will also provide support for processing, production and post-purchase assistance.

Pentax has not yet given any timeline for when this new film camera will be launched. It is certainly a bold strategy against the current when the camera industry is experiencing the issue of declining camera sales to the point that some brands stopped producing compact cameras.
