Rumors about the iPhone 15 series have emerged even though the launch is still late next year. Including the iPhone 15 Ultra, a replacement for the Pro Max variant, whose price is rumored to be stroking the chest.
This leak comes from tipster LeaksApplePro. Last month, LeaksApplePro said the bill of materials for the iPhone 15 Ultra would be up USD 100 compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Now, LeaksApplePro says the price for the iPhone 15 Ultra will start at USD 1,299 or around Rp. 20 million. This rumored price represents a USD 200 increase over the iPhone 14 Pro Max and is the highest price increase in iPhone history.
"It will be a more expensive iPhone. Even in the United States," said LeaksApplePro, as quoted by Forbes, Monday (12/12/2022).
"Apple has been losing margins from year to year. Rising production costs and inflation, which has reduced the value of the money held by the company in the bank, has made the company unable to stand it anymore," he continued.
Apart from the price issue, LeaksApplePro also revealed several improvements that the iPhone 15 Ultra will bring. They say the iPhone 15 Ultra will come with internal memory starting at 256GB, up from the 128GB that the iPhone 14 Pro Max currently offers.
The iPhone 15 Ultra is also rumored to come with two front cameras, USB-C with Thunderbolt 4 for faster data transfer and charging, and a body made of titanium.
LeaksApplePro admits that they do not know whether other iPhone 15 variants will experience a price increase. As is known, the price of the iPhone 14 series is still the same as the iPhone 13 series, at least for the US market.
But Forbes estimates that the most expensive variant of the iPhone 15 Ultra with 1TB of storage will penetrate the price of USD 1,799 (Rp. 28 million), so it is likely that this increase will have an impact on the prices of other iPhone 15s.
