The Real Face of the Pharaoh Who Died Chasing Moses Produced Using 3D Technology

In the history of Al Quran, Prophet Moses A.S escaped from Egypt because he was hunted by the cruel Pharaoh. When Moses parted the Red Sea to cross with his followers, Pharaoh drowned after being swallowed by the sea. Among historians, Ramses II is believed to be the Pharaoh mentioned in the Torah, the Gospel and the Quran.

Scientists from Liverpool John Moores University's Face Lab and the University of Cairo have produced all the faces of Ramses II based on CT scan data taken from the mummy of this prominent Egyptian emperor. Based on this data, the oasis of Ramses II when he was 45 and 90 was produced using 3D technology.

With the CT scan data, the real face of Ramses II can be seen instead of the hundreds of statues carved when he was still alive. He was the Pharaoh who ruled during the 9th Dynasty of Egypt and was also known as Ramses The Great and Ozymandias because of his long reign.

Among the monuments built by him is the Abu Simbel temple. After his death, Ramses II was buried in the valley of the Kings instead of the Pyramids like the emperors of previous dynasties.
