Touch n Go eWallet is now seen to have started offering the ability to apply for a "Visa Card" through the application, for a number of users. This feature appears to be being introduced in stages, and is only offered to a limited number of users for now.
Through the TNG eWallet application, it displays an icon called "Visa Card", and users can apply for a prepaid Visa card through it.
This prepaid card is linked to the user's TNG eWallet account balance, and can be used for payments at a number of terminals that accept Visa card payments. In addition, users can also withdraw money through ATMs that support this Visa card, in addition to using this card for online purchases.
Through the TNC document included in the application, it shows that the application fee for the card is as much as RM10 for each application. But, through the application on the app, it shows a charge of RM5 (probably because of the promotional period). In addition, this card is also seen to have an annual fee of RM18 (which is also given free for the promotional period).
Once the application is complete, users are expected to receive their Visa prepaid card within 10 days. The user will then need to activate the card and set a 6-digit Pin for the Visa card for transaction purposes. This process will be done using the TNG eWallet application.
For now, this apply feature is being rolled out gradually, and may be accessible to all in the near future.
