Twitter Shows The Difference Between Verified Accounts

Yesterday, Twitter announced Twitter Blue for Business, a subscription service for business and staff account verification. The account will use a square avatar, have a gold smear and the staff will be next to the name along with the square Twitter logo.

Today Twitter shows the difference between verified accounts. First of all is the verification under Twitter, under which it has;

Blue smudge marks.

There are two, one with a Twitter Blue subscription and the other a legacy verified account. Twitter Blue subscription prices are from RM34.90 to RM49.90 and are still limited in selected countries only. Twitter also no longer offers verification of individual accounts without subscriptions.

Golden smudge with square avatar.

For business accounts, accounts will have a gold smear mark while sub-accounts will have a square Twitter logo. For employees of the company, their accounts will have a blue smudge mark with a square Twitter logo. This is under Twitter Blue for Business.

Gray smudges.

Any government agency account such as the ministry of education and so on will use a gray smear mark.

"Official" label.

Accounts that have been verified with a blue, gold or gray smear mark such as the accounts of big brands, media, companies and more will have the "Official" or "Official" label.

Labels of government agencies and media.

Government agency accounts will not only have a gray smudge mark and official label, but also a label such as "US government organization". While the media account of the state representative will have a label such as "Russian state media".

Label the bot account "automated".

Twitter still allows active bot accounts. An example that is abundant now is an account that tastes the weather. This account will have a label controlled by who.

Then there is self-verification for professional accounts, where individuals can choose what their account type is for. For example coffee shop accounts, business accounts, celebrity accounts and many more.
