The Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) team from CyberProof released data on countries from which the highest number of cyberattacks originated in the world in 2021. Indonesia is on the list of the security service companies.
This investigation is carried out using IP addresses that are in open and premium sources. it includes indicators of various types of attacks including phishing, malware, ransomware, SsH and FTP attacks, web application attacks, to Unique Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) from the dark web.
"We analyzed all the IP addresses in this feed for 2021, identified their geolocations, by country and came up with a way to rank each country," wrote CyberProof on their official blog.
The following are the countries of origin of the highest cyberattacks in the world in 2021:
1. China (18.83%)
2. United States (17.05%)
3. Brazil (5.63%)
4. India (5.33%)
5. Germany (5.10%)
6. Vietnam (4.23%)
7. Thailand (2.51%)
8. Russia (2.46%)
9. Indonesia (3.41%)
10. Netherlands (2.20%)
"For the record, some of the IP addresses in this feed represent legitimate services (such as cloud infrastructure), which are misused by threat actors to launch attacks," he said.
