15 HP Battery Draining Applications, There are WhatsApp and YouTube

Applications such as WhatsApp and Instagram have now become an important part of everyday life. But unfortunately these two applications can also drain the cellphone battery quickly.

Research firm pCloud released a list of mobile applications that make cellphone batteries more wasteful. Interestingly, this list is dominated by popular applications that are used by millions to billions of users.

To compile this list, pCloud analyzed the access permissions of 100 popular apps to see which apps had the most requests, such as Wi-Fi, location, microphone, camera, and more.

Each request is then calculated based on the estimated battery consumption to give the total demand. If an app has access to the most battery-draining number of permissions, it will rank high on the list of battery-draining apps.

The results are quite surprising because many popular applications are included in this list. Social media and messaging applications such as WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube and Telegram are among the applications that drain the cellphone battery the most because they have to frequently send notifications in the background.

Likewise with online dating applications such as Tinder and Bumble which definitely require access to the user's location. Apps for work and school like Zoom and LinkedIn also make the list.

Bumble

snapchat

WhatsApp

Zoom

YouTube

Booking.com

Telegram

LinkedIn

Considering that this application is still running in the background and continues to consume battery power even if it is not opened, you must think to just delete it from your cellphone to save battery.

But there's no need to take too drastic steps, because Android already has settings to optimize applications that drain the phone's battery in the background that you can activate easily. The method is as follows:

Enter the Settings app on your phone

Tap Apps > View all Apps

Find the app you want to optimize from the list above, then tap Battery

If you can't find it, look for the Battery option, then enter 'Optimize battery usage' in the advanced settings menu

Select the app you want to optimize from the list above, then select the Optimized option.
