Apart from showing off the Ryzen 7000 Mobile line at CES 2023, AMD also showed off the RDNA 3 line of GPUs for laptops, which are promised to be as fast as desktop GPUs.
One of the GPUs in question is the RX 7600M XT, which is claimed to be able to play AAA games such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla at 1080p resolution with a frame rate of 100fps, Borderlands 3 at 106 fps, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 142 fps.
Such performance is higher, according to AMD, 31% compared to Nvidia RTX 3060 8GB for desktop, especially when playing a series of games such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Borderlands 3, Dirt 5, The Division 2, Hitman 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, The Witcher 3, and PUBG at 1080p resolution with maximum graphics settings.
The RX 7600M XT, on paper has a computing capacity of 32 teraflops, and is equipped with 8GB of GDDR6. While the RX 7600 M has a capacity of 28 teraflops with 8GB of GDDR6. Both are built on the RDNA 3 architecture built on the 6nm process.
Oh yes, this architecture also supports the latest AV1 video codec, which is efficient for streaming purposes. Oh yes, there are also RDNA 3 GPUs for thin and light laptops, namely the RX 7000S and RX 7600S series, we were quoted as saying from The Verge, Thursday (5/1/2023).
Of course, RDNA 3 is more fitting when compared to the RTX 40 mobile lineup, which according to Nvidia has the same performance as the RTX 30 mobile but with only a third of the power consumption.
Both AMD and Nvidia say that their new line of GPUs will be available on the latest gaming laptops in February. One of the laptops that use the RDNA 3 GPU is the Alienware M18 and M16 -- both of which also use the latest Ryzen 7000 -- which are available with the RX 7600 XT option.
