Like a number of other technology companies such as Meta, Microsoft, HTC and so on, Apple is also seen to have the intention to develop their augmented reality device which was previously reported to be given a high focus.
The latest Bloomberg report interestingly says that Apple has now put the development of augmented reality glasses on hold and seems to be focusing on the development of their Apple Reality One and Reality Pro augmented reality devices for the time being.
While no official reason was given as to why the development of the smart glasses was stopped, the report also said that Apple seems to want to focus on the more premium development for the time being.
The augmented reality device is expected to be introduced later this year, and will most likely be powered by the Apple M2 processing chip that powers the latest MacBook Air series of laptops.
The development of glasses technology is also seen to be quite difficult from a technical point of view compared to a set of head devices although conceptually it is seen to meet almost the same requirements.
Google who had previously stopped the development of Google Glass is now back with their augmented reality project, which is Project Iris, while Meta is developing their new augmented reality device Nazare.
