There is a lot of information and speculation about Apple's first AR headset. The launch is expected to see what Apple can produce in Cupertino compared to Meta in Menlo Park. According to The Information's latest report, the design of Apple's AR headset has been changed again this time with a battery pack placed on the wearer's waist.
The battery pack is repositioned away from the head to solve the issue of headset being too heavy, unbalanced and heating. The power cable is connected from the battery pack to the headset using the MagSafe system. In the same report, this headset comes with 12 cameras and LiDAR so it can scan the real world all the time.
The micro LED screen provides a 120-degree view with a resolution of up to 8K. On the outside there is a secondary display so that the user's emotions can be displayed to other users. No built-in speakers are provided. Instead it needs to be used with Apple AirPods Pro Gen 2 which has an H2 chip. This allows spatial audio to be better heard by the wearer.
Powering it is a new chip that's more powerful than the ones in iPhones and Macs. High power is required to process 3D visuals at high resolution. How accurate this report is will only be known if the headset launches this year as previously reported.
