Asus is showing off its newest ROG Flow line of gaming laptops at CES 2023. This time there are three models being brought along, namely the ROG Flow X13, X16 and Z13.
All three come with the most up-to-date hardware, including the latest generation of processors and GPUs. But the most obvious improvement is the bigger battery.
ROG Flow X13 and X16 come with a 2-in-1 design with a screen that can be rotated up to 360 degrees. The difference between the two can be seen from the screen size and specifically for the X16 it is compatible with an external GPU to boost its gaming performance.
When it first launched in 2021, the X13 had a 62Whr battery. Now the battery is upgraded to 72 Whr. Surprisingly, the X16 still uses a 90Whr battery like the previous generation.
Other specifications about the X13 and X16 are still not widely known. But Asus has revealed that ROG Flow X13 will use an AMD R9 processor paired with an Nvidia GPU.
ROG Flow X13 also supports RAM configurations up to 32GB and SSD up to 2TB. ROG X16 will offer similar specifications, but only comes in a version with an Intel processor.
Switch to the ROG Flow Z13 (2023), which still carries a convertible design a la Microsoft Surface. This laptop has a detachable keyboard and can be connected to an external GPU, as quoted from The Verge, Thursday (5/1/2023).
If the previous edition of the ROG Flow Z13 was equipped with a 56Whr battery, this 2023 edition has the battery boosted to 130Whr. It is not yet known what processor this laptop will use, but the maximum configuration is up to 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD.
These three gaming laptops will come in a variety of display options. However, only ROG Flow X16 has a 240Hz display option with Nebula Display technology from Asus which offers a brightness level of up to 1,200 nits.
Pricing and availability for the Asus ROG Flow X13, X16, and Z13 have not been announced.
