Asus Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip are the last two Zenfone devices to enter the Malaysian market, because after that Asus only brought in their ROG Phone devices. Zenfone 9 which many say is a compact flagship device was also not brought in last year.
Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip are 2021 flagship devices with a Snapdragon 888 chip, 5.9″ and 6.67″ Super AMOLED HDR10+ screens and a 64MP camera with the Flip model using a motorized module that can bring the rear camera to the front. Until today this device is still sold at a price of RM2,999.
Recently after a year of receiving the Android 12 update, this device has finally been given the Android 13 update. Not only that, the January 2023 security patch update is also included. So far, Asus has fulfilled their promise in providing updates – where the Zenfone 8 series supports operating system updates for two years.
Meaning, Android 13 is the last update for this device and if there is another update after this – it's just a security patch. In this update, many system applications are updated with a new design, the overall interface also follows the original Android 13 design format, the clipboard has an auto-delete feature, and more.
This update is distributed in stages, but if you haven't received this Zen UI Android 13 update yet – Asus also offers files for manual updates and guides.
