Audio-Technica is a fairly popular brand of audio products. They offer a wide variety of products from various categories. Some are affordable, middle class and even premium class. Recently, they have launched a new set of headphones that have been released specifically for live broadcast use.
This product is the StreamSet series of Audio-Technica ATH-M50xSTS and ATH-M50xSTS-USB Earphones. Both have the same specifications and the same design, except for the connections where the ATH-M50xSTS uses XLR, 1/4″ analog and the other is digital USB-A with DAC. This set of headphones is also based on the favorite version of the ATH-M50x.
Although it is based on the same popular model, the ATH-M50xSTS series has a cardioid condenser microphone. Audio-Technica offers this set of headphones for the use of content creators who are active in live broadcasting such as streaming video games, reaction videos and others. The audio driver used is 45mm in size and is claimed to provide studio-grade audio quality. It is also a closed type headphone set.
The ear pads can also be changed according to the comfort of the user. It also supports the auto-mute feature of the microphone as easily as raising or lowering it. The most premium model is the USB version, as it supports DAC and audio up to 24 bit/96 kHz with 5V power. While the XLR connection model only focuses on high power which reaches 52 V. This Audio-Technica ATH-M50xSTS can also be folded to be easily carried anywhere.
The local sales price has not been announced yet, but in the United States it is sold at a starting price of $199 (~RM870) for the ATH-M50xSTS and $220 (~RM962) for the ATH-M50xSTS-USB.
