Bill Gates Suddenly Praises China

Bill Gates suddenly heaped praise on China and their current rise. According to the Microsoft founder, the rise of China is a great victory for the world.

"I tend to see China's rise as a big win for the world," he said during a recent visit to Australia, as quoted by us from Fox News. Why is that?

"I mean, (China) is 20% of humanity. They fit today their portion of the global economy, their global population fits (its economy)," he added.

"You know, countries like Australia, the United States, we have a GDP per capita five times that of the Chinese. So our world economy is disproportionate," continued Bill Gates.

Talking about the attitude of the United States towards China which is sometimes full of suspicion and which is also reciprocated by China, according to Bill Gates, this is a win-win mentality. Indeed, relations between China and the US are still heating up, for example in the technology war.

"If you ask US politicians 'hey, do you want China's economy to shrink 20% or grow 20%,' I'm afraid they will vote 'yes, let's kill those people,'" he said.

Even though the cooperation between the US and China is very important in various crucial sectors such as climate change. According to him, this is something that is less understood in the US. On the other hand, despite assessing China's rise positively, Bill Gates acknowledged that the country is not a democracy and is a special case of a fairly high level of prosperity.
