At CES 2022, the BMW iX Flow was shown with it being able to change from black to white or vice versa in a matter of seconds. This is because the surface of the vehicle's body is filled with thousands of e-ink panels. AT CES 2023, the BMW i Vision Dee (Digital Emotional Experience) concept vehicle was announced.
This time i Vision Dee can change to 32 different colors in the blink of an eye. This time 240 colored e-ink panels are used not only on the body, but also on the wheel cover. In addition to the futuristic color-changing body, i Vision Dee is also equipped with a HUD system that is projected onto the front screen.
Car mirrors can also display special images and avatars that will interact with the owner when they are detected nearby. Not ending here, the iconic vehicle grille can also display graphics to interact with individuals outside.
The entire BMW i Vision Dee is still just a concept but the HUD system used will begin to be included in their production vehicles by 2025.
