Dell Wants to Stop Using Chinese-Made Chips by 2024

Dell is now reportedly planning to stop using any Chinese-made processing chips by 2024. In addition, Dell has also asked manufacturers to reduce various Chinese-made components in their products.

This step is seen to be taken by Dell, due to trade tensions between China and the United States.

Previously, a number of chip manufacturers from China were blacklisted by the United States, thus making Chinese manufacturers look at a number of other alternatives in chip development, including supporting Risc-V based development.

In addition to Dell, it is said that HP is also looking to reduce production dependence in China, and is looking at other countries such as Vietnam.
