WhatsApp has just launched a new feature, namely sending messages without the need for the internet. This certainly helps, for example, when the internet is down, especially especially in countries that sometimes block the internet or WhatsApp itself. How to use?
WhatsApp says this feature is available in the latest version of WhatsApp. For those who haven't, just wait, because it's being spread in stages. Again, this feature is intended for emergencies, not for everyday use.
"When you can't connect to WhatsApp directly, you can connect via the application through a proxy server set up by volunteers and special organizations whose job is to help users communicate safely and freely," said WhatsApp on the blog we quoted.
According to WhatsApp, using proxies does not change the high level of privacy and security that WhatsApp provides to all users.
"Your private messages and calls will remain protected by end-to-end encryption. This means that messages and calls are known only to you and the person you are communicating with, and cannot be seen by anyone else, not even a proxy server, WhatsApp, or Meta, " they added. Here's how:
Looking for a proxy to use
If you have Internet access, you can look up trusted sources that have created proxies via social media or search engines.
Connecting to a proxy on Android
1. Make sure to use the latest version of WhatsApp.
2. On the Chats tab, tap More options then Settings.
3. Tap Storage and data>Proxies (located at the bottom).
4. Tap Use proxy.
5. Tap Set proxy and enter the proxy address.
6. Tap Save.
7. A checkmark will appear if the connection is successful.
8. If you still can't send or receive WhatsApp messages using a proxy, the proxy may have been blocked. You can long press a blocked proxy address to remove it, then enter a new proxy address to try again.
Connect to a proxy on iPhone
1. Make sure to use the latest version of WhatsApp.
2. Open WhatsApp Settings.
3. Tap Storage and data>Proxies.
4. Tap Use proxy.
5. Enter the proxy address then tap Save to connect.
6. A checkmark will appear if the connection is successful.
7. If you still can't send or receive WhatsApp messages using a proxy, the proxy may have been blocked. Try again using a different proxy address
When you use a third-party proxy, the IP address will be shared with the proxy provider. Third party proxies are not provided by WhatsApp.
