HSBC Malaysia Now Provides Apple Pay Support

Apple Pay is a non-cash payment support that can be done at the terminal by wave using a device such as an iPhone or Apple Watch. It has also been ready to be used in Malaysia since last August with unlimited payment types in physical stores. In fact, also supports selected online stores such as Shopee.

In the latest development, Apple Pay support is now available for HSBC credit card holders. Referring to Lowyat, it supports all types of credit cards issued by HSBC Malaysia, whether Mastercard or Visa. At the same time, this support is also provided for both conventional HSBC credit card holders and Amanah HSBC Islamic.

In conjunction with this availability, HSBC is offering a cash rebate of RM30 to any cardholder who makes at least 5 transactions using Apple Pay. Provided that the minimum spend is RM50 for each transaction and the promotion is limited until 31 May 2023.

This introduction indirectly gives more choices to the public, while also contributing to the cashless society. Besides HSBC, some of the main banks that also provide this support are Ambank, Maybank and Standard Chartered Malaysia. Meanwhile, CIMB Bank is targeting its introduction around the second half of this year.
