Alibaba Cloud announced the launch of the Apsara Developer Community, a global Apsara developer community. This community wants to be a link for developers with the various tools and resources they need.

The establishment of this community aims to support the growth of the developer community and facilitate further advancement of the digital economy.

From Web3 to Digital Intelligence

Launched at the Alibaba Cloud Global Developer Summit in Jakarta on Tuesday (9/1) the Apsara Developer Community offers resources and insights for global developers related to technology trends that are currently being discussed and are the center of attention starting from Web3, AI, to digital intelligence.


The resources provided also include access to some of the latest development tools and projects, training materials and tutorials, forums and blogs, community events and competitions to showcase their app development, as well as other networking and upskilling opportunities.




The competition has a prize of USD 30 thousand

The Alibaba Cloud Global Developer Summit event also announced the PolarDB Global Hackathon 2023 competition. The competition was held to encourage developers to explore cloud native database innovations.


From now until February 28, participants can submit their projects and the winner will be awarded a cash prize of USD 30 thousand or equivalent to IDR 457 million.


In addition, Alibaba Cloud launched the Alibaba SMART Scholarship to encourage students to join this developer community through cloud-based technology and become local digital talents. During the first year of the annual scholarship program, 20 apprentices from universities will be recruited to join Alibaba Cloud's local office to gain more experience in the field.


Superapp 'factory'

Alibaba Cloud also launched a new solution to help developers build superapps in a cost-effective and efficient manner.


Superapp is an application that includes various miniapps developed independently to meet the needs of different users.


By leveraging Alibaba Cloud's Enterprise Mobile Application Studio (EMAS), developers can quickly build superapps with rich platform capabilities in a matter of hours. This is claimed to add competitive advantage to global organizations and companies.


Taobao and Tmall, Alibaba's e-commerce superapps, are examples. The two superapps are touted as comprehensive solutions that provide a rich ecosystem for developers, including components in application infrastructure and business features, containers for running mini-apps, and services for DevOps and operations.
