LG Introduces Display Panels That Can Be Folded On Both Sides

At the CES 2023 event, in addition to showing a new series of televisions and gaming displays, the technology company from South Korea also showed off new display technology offerings for future devices.

Both of these new offerings come in the form of foldable display panels, one for smart devices that come in eight-inch sizes, and the other an 18-inch display for laptops and tablets.

This eight-inch display, which is displayed on a device that resembles a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold is called 360-degree Foldable OLED where this display can be folded on both sides of the device. It has also been tested with a total of 200 thousand folds.

The folding effect on this panel is also said to be very minimal, and allows foldable device makers to develop even more unique foldable devices in the future.

The second panel used is for tablet and laptop class devices. The advantage of this panel, according to LG apart from the bright color processing, is that the crease effect shown on the panel is less compared to the panels on the market today.

LG is expected to introduce this panel to device brands soon, and by next year or the end of this year, we will be able to see more brand new foldable devices on the market.
