There has been a shift in position regarding mobile internet rankings in the last year. If previously the United Arab Emirates held the top of the standings, now it is far away from its neighboring country, namely Qatar.
Not without reason, Qatar itself at the end of the year is holding a grand event, the 2022 World Cup, of course presenting connectivity that pampers visitors has become the country's priority.
The interesting thing about the top 10 fastest mobile internet countries in the world is that there are new countries, such as Denmark, Macau, to Indonesia's neighboring country, namely Brunei Darussalam. They replaced Saudi Arabia, Cyprus and Kuwait.
Ranking List of the Fastest Fixed Broadband in the World
The competition for the fastest fixed broadband is very competitive in the Speedtest Global Index in 2022. In the latest list, Chile is on top beating the previous winner, Singapore, which is currently in second place.
Ookla has his eyes on Chili. The South American country has an increase in internet speed from 146.62 Mbps in 2021 to 214.58 Mbps in 2022.
Throughout 2022, the top 10 countries with the fastest fixed broadband are relatively the same and continue to try to show their teeth to give the best. However, Spain had to be knocked out of the top 10 and replaced by the United Arab Emirates which entered the top ranks.
Ookla said countries are constantly racing to bring internet speed to their users. This will continue to happen as the latest cellular technologies are born, such as 5G.
"We are excited to see how global speeds and rankings change over the next year as individual countries and their providers choose to invest and expand in different technologies, especially in 5G and fiber," concluded Ookla.
