Accessibility features on smartphones help people with disabilities to use them just like normal people. But there are still many obstacles for people with disabilities to be independent because various products, devices and infrastructure are not designed for them. At CES 2023, L'Oréal has launched a device that helps people with disabilities to wear lipstick more comfortably and an eyebrow make-up printer.
Hapta is a gimbal for lipstick that stabilizes this makeup tool when held by disabled people who have a lack of mobility. It reduces hand tremors in those with cerebral palsy, lack of mobility due to stroke and Parkinson's patients.
It took a year to develop and feedback from users has been positive so far. L'Oréal aims for Harpa to be marketed in the United States this year and globally next year with prices starting at $149 (~RM655).
Also developed is L'Oréal Brow Magic which is an eyebrow makeup printer. Using L'Oréal's Modiface AR application, the user's face is first scanned. Then they can choose the shape of eyebrow make-up they want to print. Apply Brow Magic on the face and your makeup is printed directly on the face.
Brow Magic has 2400 small printer nozzles with a density of 1200 dpi. This device was developed in collaboration with Prinker who has expertise in producing temporary counting machines on the skin.
