Mercedes Will Stop Using EQ Brand After 2024

Mercedes is seen as one of the vehicle brands that have started to introduce a number of electric vehicles through their EQ model. The latest in Malaysia is the Mercedes EQS 2022 which comes with a price tag approaching RM700 thousand.

Even so, Mercedes looks set to no longer use the EQ brand after 2024 after the company introduces a number of new electric vehicles around the end of that year.

This is not surprising because previously Mercedes already had a plan to produce a fully electric car by 2030.

This matter also seems to only be affected for vehicles that will be introduced in the future. For vehicles that already use this name, it will remain in use until the vehicles are no longer produced.

This is because for now, the EQ brand is still clearly recognized as Mercedes' electric vehicle model, and it is still the easiest way for people to distinguish between their electric and petrol offerings.
