Microsoft Expected to Announce Five Percent Layoffs From Their Workforce

The technology industry that showed a fairly sharp increase in profits during the COVID-19 pandemic now appears to be forced to reduce their workforce due to rising operating costs.

After Meta, Twitter and Amazon, now it's Microsoft's turn, the leading technology company from Redmond to start cutting their workforce. According to Sky News, Microsoft will soon announce such large-scale layoffs worldwide.

Microsoft has around 220 thousand workers on a global scale, and the company is expected to lay off around five percent of that number, which means that around 10 thousand workers will lose their jobs in the near future.

For now, Microsoft has not said which jobs will be cut, but based on the workforce reductions that took place last year, positions such as consultants and customer service have been let go.
