New York Bans ChatGPT Access In Schools Due To Cheating Issues By Students

ChatGPT was launched last year and impressed many users with its ability to produce essays as fast as human writers. Among the earliest issues since ChatGPT can be accessed for free is that it is used by students to make up homework given by school teachers.

The New York Department of Education has issued orders that ChatGPT access be blocked from school internet networks and school-issued devices. This drastic step was taken because the use of ChatGPT is not good for the learning process at school. Answers can be found by simply asking ChatGPT without them making any effort to learn and sharpen critical thinking skills.

In addition to schools, there have been incidents of university students using this artificial intelligence to produce papers given by lecturers. Their attempt to chelate is vulnerable due to inaccurate facts and the paper lacks the reference segment that is usually present in papers written by students themselves.
