Police: Sharing Roadblock Information on the Waze App Could Interfere with Enforcement

The Kuala Lumpur Police Chief is now advising the public not to share information related to roadblocks (SJR) or any police presence through the popular navigation application, Waze.

The police said that the act may interfere with the enforcement against the disobedient drivers which is being implemented by the authorities.

Although this shared measure benefits drivers, at the same time it is said to hinder enforcement against reckless drivers – especially those who drive under the influence of alcohol or other traffic offences.

The police hope that the public can cooperate with the authorities rather than helping those who commit these road offences.
