The company behind the Stem Player music player, a device that can remix music now comes with a unique mini projector – the Stem Projector.
The company is Kano Computing and this projector is not like a normal projector. It comes in a round and almost flat shape, has 256GB of internal storage that can be expanded with a microSD card, supports mini-HDMI connectivity, AirPlay 2 and Chromecast, supports WiFi and cellular and has a built-in battery that lasts up to 5 hours.
This projector can emit content at a brightness level of 300 lumens only. Beams are also in variable shapes such as oval, round and more. Stem Player also has its own content to broadcast videos, pictures to decorate the wall, content to relax and many more in collaboration with various companies such as Mubi.
For controls, there are haptic touch controls along with LED lights on top and six buttons. Controls are by touching and making circular motions for beam deformation, video advance, and various other gesture controls. The finish on this Stem Player is soft and leather-like. It also comes with a storage frame that can also be a leg for this projector.
This product is said to be built for non-default users on smartphones. It is sold at a price of $1000 (~RM4404) with various color options. For now, only 1000 units are sold and are still limited in selected countries only. As of this writing, a total of 977 units have been sold on their website.
