The Horrible Murders of 4 College Students Revealed Thanks to DNA Analysis

The citizens of the United States are being shocked by the horrific murder case in Ohio that killed 4 students at the University of Idaho on November 13. Now, thanks to the help of technology, such as DNA analysis and cellphones, the suspected perpetrators have been arrested by the police.

For weeks, the murders of University of Idaho students Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin have been the center of intense national coverage and public speculation.

The youths, all aged 20 to 21, were killed in their beds, apparently at random. The police failed to find a suspect or a motive for a long time.

But now the story is different. Bryan Kohberger, a 28-year-old criminal justice doctoral student at Washington State University, was scheduled to appear in court after being extradited from Pennsylvania, where his parents live and where officers arrested him.

The affidavit detailed how investigators used DNA evidence from a knife sheath left at the scene, as well as video tracking the white Hyundai Elantra the perpetrator was driving, to link Kohberger to the murder.

Cell phone data shows that he was in the area of the victim's house during the night and evening after the attack. He had also been there several times in the months leading up to the murders.

Authorities said they found DNA from a brown leather knife sheath left on the bed of one of the victims and were able to match it to Kohberger after taking the DNA from his family's home.

Kohberger's cell phone records show he was near the crime scene the night of the attack. His cell phone was also tracked at least three times near the site in the afternoon after the murder, indicating that he returned to the crime scene.

Quoted from Global News, investigators have so far not revealed a possible motive or whether Kohberger knew any of the victims
