The sad story of ex Twitter, getting laid off but not getting severance pay

A number of former Twitter employees who were laid off after Elon Musk acquired Twitter said they had not received severance pay until now.

In fact, from the start Elon promised all employees affected by layoffs would receive a severance pay of three months' salary. But now, up to two months later, the severance pay has not been paid.

Because they couldn't wait, ex-Twitters who were in the United States filed an arbitration lawsuit. While those located in England are still trying to negotiate the agreement, we were quoted as saying from Wired.

There were seven ex-Twitters interviewed by Wired who admitted that they had not received any information regarding the severance pay. Last month, a number of his former employees announced that they would file an arbitration suit against his former employer, accusing Twitter of violating the WARN law governing layoffs in the US.

One of the employees who was laid off last November said he was still waiting for the legal process to find out whether they would actually receive severance pay, and he was not sure if it would be paid by Twitter. Then there is also another former employee who was laid off in early November, who admits that until now he has not received any information regarding the severance pay.

Perhaps one of the worst is a Twitter employee in Ghana, who was laid off just a week after Twitter opened a branch office in the country.

"Just like other employees globally, we were promised severance pay but have not received any information from them," said a former Twitter employee in Ghana.

Even so, there have been several former employees who received severance pay. For example, a contractor admits that his boss received severance pay on January 5.
