Elon Musk seems to be overhauling the appearance of Twitter in the near future. The owner and CEO of Twitter said the social media company will release a feature that allows users to switch timelines by swiping.
This new feature was announced directly by Musk via his tweet at the end of last week. Musk says the new feature is coming in January, so it shouldn't be much longer.
"New Twitter navigation coming in January allowing sideways swiping to switch between recommended and followed tweets, trends, topics, and more," Musk said in a tweet as quoted by The Verge, Tuesday (3/1/2023) .
Musk first gave such indications in early December. In his tweet, Musk said the main timeline should make it easy to swipe sideways to see the top, newest, trending, and topics users are following.
New Twitter navigation coming in Jan that allows swiping to side to switch between recommended & followed tweets, trends, topics, etc.
Until then, tap the stars icon on the upper right of the home screen to switch.

Twitter currently offers two timeline options. There is a default timeline that displays the latest tweets chronologically, and a Home timeline that displays recommended tweets from unfollowed accounts and is presented in no chronological order.
To switch between the two timelines, users have to tap on the star icon present at the top right corner. If the timeline swipe feature is launched, then users can simply swipe the screen sideways to switch timelines.
In a later tweet, Musk said users could still swipe to view the Lists they created. It also promises the recommended tweets will be even better.
"As we improve Twitter's AI, recommended tweets, lists & topics will get even cooler," Musk wrote in a later tweet.
Not yet known when this feature will be released to all Twitter users. The platform with the bird logo has just released a 'view count' feature on tweets which shows how many people have seen a tweet.
The presence of this feature was immediately complained by Twitter users because it was considered to make the application and website look cluttered. Musk also promised to change the appearance, and bring a number of improvements to the interface.
