Viral husband makes a silicone statue that really looks like his late wife

 


A 65-year-old man in India is grieving after losing his wife to the Corona virus. In memory of him, he made a statue out of silicon that was very similar to the deceased and his story went viral.

As quoted by us from the Independent, the statue's appearance and shape are eleven twelve with his wife. It costs around USD 3,000 to make.


Is Tapas Sandilya, a retired government employee who lives in West Bengal, the figure who built this lifelike replica. The material is silicon, which is known as a material that is often used to make sculptures.




Sandilya lost her partner, Indrani, during the second wave of the Covid pandemic in May 2021. She was taken to the hospital, while Indrani was forced to be isolated. The 59-year-old wife died. with no one by his bedside.


The 30 kg silicone statue replica, adorned with a silk sari and jewelry. He was placed in a sitting position and crossed his arms at his favorite spot in their home.


Sandilya admitted that he fulfilled his wife's wish through the statue, because during his lifetime, his wife had asked him to make a statue of himself. "We visited the temple a decade ago and admired the living statue there. It was then that Indrani asked me if she wanted a similar statue if she died before me," he said.


"My wife passed away on May 4, 2021 and I just want to fulfill her wish," he added, quoted by us from the Independent.


Last year, Sandilya worked together with the sculptor for many days. They made a clay model of his wife, then added silicon. "Must look like him. After all, I lived with him for 39 years," he continued.


According to very conservative figures, around 530,000 people have died as a result of the Corona pandemic in India. The country has so far reported some 44 million cases of Covid, while more than two billion doses of the vaccine have been administered.
