An American woman whose photo of her being arrested by police went viral for a scary skull-like tattoo has undergone a dramatic transformation. Now her real face is completely different and it turns out that she is a charming woman.
Alyssa Zebrasky hit the news in December 2018 after she was arrested in Ohio on shoplifting and drug possession charges. The photo went viral with a spider web tattooed forehead, along with a skull design around the eyes, cheeks, nose and lips.
In April 2019, Zebrasky and his tattoos made headlines again after being caught by the police again. But now, Zebrasky has changed his life after completing a trial program and drug rehabilitation. He removed all of his facial tattoos to forget about his ex-girlfriend.
"My ex and I were talking one day and he said you should get your face tattooed. At first I said no and then he kept talking about it. He chose the design, skulls all over my face," she said.
"Looking back at the tattoo, I feel disappointed in myself. Then I feel proud because change is possible. I can see my personal growth," he said.
She documented her experiences on social media with the support of her family and new partner. Alyssa has tattoos all over her body but only wants to erase part of her face to forget about her relationship with her ex.
"I used to get mocked on social media, everyone said really mean things about and I didn't get a chance to tell my side of the story," she said.
When he began the removal process in October 2019, he was told he would need 12 laser sessions to remove the tattoo.
Becca, the person who removed the tattoo, was initially intimidated by her client's appearance. "I've never seen so many tattoos on someone's face," he said.
Now the tattoo is almost gone and reveals a face that turns out to be charming. Zebrasky said he now "accepts" his face and hopes his experience will help others in a similar situation.
"For a very long time, I felt like I wasn't free. Like I had to live a certain way because of the things that happened in my life. Now I'm finally free," he said.
