Weird, Nintendo Playing Pet Fish and 'Creaking' Credit Cards

A pet fish in Japan, plays video games and manages to mess up his master's Nintendo Switch, change his avatar, create a Pay Pal account, and collect credit card bills.

The fish in question belongs to a YouTuber known as Mutekimaru. His channel is popular among the gaming community because his videos feature groups of fish "playing" video games.

Mutekimaru had previously installed motion detection software in the aquarium, allowing the fish to remotely control the Nintendo Switch console.

However, as quoted by CNN, this technology and thanks to the cleverness of fish, causes unexpected events to occur when Mutekimaru broadcasts a Pokemon game live.

Mutekimaru took a short break as the game crashed due to a system error, and the console returned to the home screen. But the fish continued to swim, as aquatic creatures usually do, and seemed to continue to remotely control the console from their aquarium.

Over the next seven hours, the fish reportedly managed to change the name of its owner's Switch account before twice logging into Nintendo's app store, where users can purchase games and other downloadable content.

He also managed to "check off" the legal terms and conditions, download new avatars and even create a PayPal account from the Switch, as well as email the owner. It didn't stop there, the fish was seen adding 500 yen to the Mutekimaru Switch account from the owner's credit card during the live stream.

At this point, thousands of comments flooded into the live stream as viewers witnessed an accidental account takeover live on the channel. The incident went viral on Twitter and was shared by thousands of users in Japan.

Mutekimaru later said he had contacted Nintendo to explain what had happened and asked for a refund of his 500 yen. Meanwhile, Nintendo declined to comment, citing customer confidentiality.
