5 Jobs AI Will Take Over in the Future

The following five jobs are threatened by the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Can humans compete with AI?

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has recently become more massive. In fact, its development is predicted to threaten human work.

Reporting from News.com Australia, Tuesday (21/2/2023) there are at least 5 jobs that have the potential to be taken over by AI. This was disclosed by Chinmay Hedge, Professor at New York University and Pengcheng Shi, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, Rochester Institute of Technology.

1. Teacher/Lecturer

Shi assesses that ChatGPT is capable of teaching in class. Despite bugs and inaccuracies, they can be trained and developed.

"For higher education, a human role is needed for the future," said Shi and Hegde. But the NYU professor thinks AI can teach without supervision.

2. Financial worker

Workers in the financial sector spend 2-3 years learning and modeling Excel. It is much faster when done by AI.

"Nevertheless, crucial decisions regarding finances and the economy will still be held by humans," Shi said.

3. Software Engineering

"These jobs are predicted to disappear by 2026 or sooner," Shi said.

The work of creating websites, compiling code, building sites and other IT work can be done by AI

4. Journalists

Mid-2020 Guardian brought in GPT to write articles, although AI ran into difficulties at first. But lately AI has been more perfect.

“Copying, summarizing, creating articles and all that sort of thing works well,” says Hedge.

However, AI still has weaknesses in the field of journalism. According to Hedge, AI is still unable to efficiently check facts.

Ensuring the correctness of information, it seems that it still needs to be held by humans. Confirming with sources is not a machine job.

5. Graphic designer

In 2021, OpenAI developed DALL-E to generate images according to user commands.

"This tool is certainly a threat to the graphic design and creative industries," according to Hegde.

But the weakness occurs when AI processes millions of copyrighted images. Getty Images is processing law against Stability AI for this incident.
