Often we see new devices being sold at cheaper prices in online stores. The average is an imported version from China that entered Malaysia earlier than the official version. According to a report by Adroplus, OnePlus 11 users in Russia are starting to report that devices purchased from China issue warnings that the phone call feature is deactivated when used outside the country. The device worked normally for two weeks before the feature turned off and a notification urging them to get customer service help appeared on the screen.
There are 42 countries on the list of blocked cellular features including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore. So far there is no way to restore the phone call feature after it has been blocked. This barrier is given to ensure that the official global version of the OnePlus 11 device is purchased by users in these 42 countries.
Buying a device with a Chinese ROM is not recommended because the software is not optimized for use outside of China. At the same time spyware has been discovered by researchers with data collected without permission on devices manufactured by OnePlus and Xiaomi.
