Fahmi Fadzil : Various Problems Arising from the Quality of Telecommunication Services Need to be Solved by June 2023

Fahmi Fadzil today shared that now through the Communications and Multimedia Commission, attention is paid to the quality of telecommunication services, and the government wants to ensure that users enjoy a good internet experience.

He also commented that there are several metrics in ensuring the quality of telecommunications service offerings - and it is not limited to service quality alone, but can also be seen in terms of experience quality metrics and so on.

Fahmi Fadzil has issued instructions to the MCMC to ensure that various problems arising involving telecommunications are resolved by June this year.

Today, it can be said that around 97% of the populated areas in Malaysia are covered by the telecommunications network. However, in terms of quality, it is still quite bad – with various coverage gaps, causing frequent service interruptions, or experiencing a disconnected line during a call.

A number of methods can be used in overcoming and ensuring that lines remain connected, including the use of domestic roaming which allows a telecommunications company to use the infrastructure of another company to offer services. This may be one of the methods in overcoming the problem of coverage gaps.

Fahmi Fadzil also shared some of the main problems that will be given attention to overcome are network congestion, and also disconnection when in use.

MCMC has been instructed to solve this problem by June 2023. More information related to this implementation is expected to be shared in the near future.
