A driver's license that needs to be renewed by the expiry date is often debated as to its necessity by many users. Responding to this, Transport Minister Anthony Loke for the time being, various matters are being discussed to facilitate license management for users.
Driving license
One of them is allowing drivers' license owners to be able to renew up to a period of 10 years. This is a two-fold increase compared to the current 5-year renewal limit.
With this move, it is expected to make it easier for users – and at the same time, maybe a small discount is given for those who renew up to 10 years.
The offer of a license without an expiry period still needs to be thoroughly studied, considering that driving license renewal is one form of income for the government.
For now, the Ministry of Transport is still in the final discussion stage, and the support for driver's license renewal for up to 10 years may be announced to the public soon.
Previously, the Ministry of Transport has also introduced an application offering that stores data related to driver's license and vehicle license.
