iPhone Reverse Wireless Charging Feature Still Under Development

Wireless charging support is a bonus feature on a smartphone. The majority of device manufacturers only include this feature on flagship phones and not all phones with wireless charging support reverse wireless charging – that is, a feature that allows other devices such as smartwatches or TWS to be charged through the back panel.

Huawei was one of the first to include this feature, then Samsung, OnePlus, Pixel, Xiaomi and more. But did you know, Apple also includes this feature on the iPhone? This support has been planned since the iPhone 11, but the presence of this feature was not seen until MagSafe charging was introduced on the iPhone 12 when, there is evidence that this feature was included and was hidden and turned off by software.

The latest report from 9to5Mac states that this feature should arrive on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, but Apple's engineers failed to make the functionality work in time for stable usage. But Apple is still not giving up and is still developing this feature and will also be integrated into iOS for good optimization.

Last January, the Wireless Power Consortium partnered with Apple to come up with Qi2 that supports MagSafe, giving Android devices the ability to use magnetic wireless charging. This collaboration is likely to further accelerate the development of reverse wireless charging on the iPhone.

Apple is also said to have developed a wireless power out feature in iOS to ensure the distribution of charging power and heat flow is balanced. This feature will also have its own interface when used just like the official MagSafe accessory attached to the iPhone.
