The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are predicted to launch this year with a new design. Following several rumors that have been circulating, the shape of the iPhone 15 Pro has begun to be revealed through CAD rendering.
This rendering was made by Ian Zelbo which was shared via 9to5Mac, as seen Friday (17/2/2023). CAD renderings like these are typically sent by Apple to accessory makers well in advance of new product launches, so their product will be ready by the time the new iPhone launches.
This CAD comes from a factory in China which seems to be the first to get this file. However, 9to5Mac insists that this rendering is based on an initial CAD model, which may differ from the final product design.
At first glance, this render looks similar to the design of the iPhone 14 Pro. But if you look closely, there are some significant changes.
First, at the bottom of the phone there is a USB-C port flanked by a speaker. This change is very significant considering that Apple has been using the Lightning port on the iPhone since 2012.

Interestingly, not long after this render went viral, the URedittor tipster uploaded a photo on Twitter showing a close-up view of the USB-C port on the iPhone 15 Pro.

Another change is the curved edges of the phone, both on the frame and glass panels. The glass panels are slightly curved at the edges making for a smoother transition.
The metal frame is also made more curved, similar to the design of the latest MacBook Pro and MacBook Pro. This new design can make the iPhone 15 Pro more comfortable to hold and users don't have to worry about pressing the wrong screen.
Turning to the back, the protrusion of the iPhone 15 Pro camera looks thicker than the iPhone 14 Pro. It looks like Apple will embed a new sensor or lens to improve its camera system. The camera setup itself is still the same as the iPhone 14 Pro, with three lenses and a LiDAR scanner placed in a box-shaped module.
On the left side there are slightly different volume and mute buttons. The volume buttons are replaced with capacitive buttons instead of physical buttons. Meanwhile, the size of the mute button is also reduced.
This render provides no information about the dimensions of the iPhone 15 Pro. But with thinner bezels, it looks like the iPhone 15 Pro will have a slightly smaller body than the iPhone 14 Pro even though the screen size is the same, namely 6.1 inches.
