Meta Is Developing Virtual Assistants For Smart Glasses

Meta has offered Ray-Ban stories smart glasses equipped with a camera. This is their first attempt to offer smart glasses to the public. This product is not very widely marketed because of the lack of really interesting features. Now comes a report Meta is developing a dedicated virtual assistant for their next pair of smart glasses based on a filed patent.

This new virtual assistant can be given commands to remind the user to buy kitchen items like milk. When the smart glasses camera detects the presence of a store, the virtual assistant will remind the wearer to buy milk. Instructions can also be given for reminders to tell family members. If the face is recognized, again a warning will be given.

It can also provide a warning to the wearer when it detects a rainy day before they leave the house. Currently this new virtual assistant is being tested on existing Ray-Ban Stories with it likely to be used on the next model.
