Minister : Telecommunications Companies Encouraged to Offer Lower Priced Broadband Packages

The Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil is now encouraging telecommunication companies to offer better quality internet, at a lower price, as appropriate.

This partnership follows on from the announcement of the introduction of a basic package at a price of RM69 per month with a minimum speed of 30Mbps aimed at the B40 group.

In addition, the government has also announced a prepaid plan initiative with basic access at a price as low as RM5 per month.

The Minister stated that both were introduced as basic offerings, and telecommunications companies were encouraged to offer packages at lower prices.

Previously, in continuation of the government's announcement, TIME had also announced the offer of a 100Mbps package at a price of RM69 per month - but limited to only a few locations for now.
