Two years ago, Netflix introduced the Play Something feature to randomly play content based on user interests. This feature can be used on many devices that support the Netflix app.
But if you're like me, spend a lot of time on Netflix – you'll probably notice that the “Play Something” button is gone. I started to think it was just a bug in the app, but the WSJ has reported that Netflix has already discontinued this feature since last January.
This feature was introduced due to the dumping of content on the platform so that users do not know which one to watch. But apparently, users have now known to want to watch specific content and maybe this feature is not being used.
A Netflix representative told the WSJ that they will continue to find other ways for users to explore the Netflix library. Do you use this feature or not?
