The iMac M1 is undeniably an attractive device, as it is a powerful all-in-one computer with an Apple M1 chip, spatial audio speakers, a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display screen, a 1080p camera, a fast USB connection port and a starting price of RM5,599 .
But with the presence of the Mac Mini M2 at a starting price of RM2499 and only around RM1000 to RM2000 for a quality monitor (total around RM3499 – RM4499), the iMac M1 is seen as not really worth it because of the expensive price compared to the M2 chip in the Mac Mini which is many times more powerful.
Mark Gurman via Bloomberg reports that Apple may be coming with a new iMac – but not anytime soon. The new iMac may only arrive at the end of 2023. iMac 2023 is said to be powered by an Apple M3 chip built on a 3nm process, which will definitely offer more robust and efficient performance.
Also uncertain is, the iMac M3 will remain with a 24-inch screen or Apple will bring back the 27-inch size recalling the old iMac model.
