Nokia G22 Introduced as an Easy-to-Repair Smartphone

HMD Global now seems to start announcing offerings in conjunction with MWC 2023, through the introduction of their latest smartphone, the Nokia G22.

The Nokia G22 offers basic specifications only, which is powered by a Unisoc T606 chip, 4GB of RAM memory, and up to 128GB of storage. It also comes with a 5050mAh battery that supports 20W charging. For photo recording, the Nokia G22 is equipped with a 50MP main camera on the back which is equipped with a macro sensor and a depth sensor.

With the basic offering, HMD Global is focusing on the ease of repairing this smartphone as a selling point.

The Nokia G22 is said to only take around 5 minutes to replace the battery, or 20 minutes to replace the display panel. This was done by HMD Global in collaboration with iFixit.

It also uses 100% recycled material for the rear plastic frame.

HMD Global is marketing it as a phone that is easy to repair for longer durability. In addition, it will also be provided with Android updates for 2 years, in addition to three years of monthly security updates.

For now, it is not known when the Nokia G22 will enter the local market.
