OnePlus 11 Doesn't Use 1″ Sensor Camera Because It Believes Better Software

While this year's device manufacturers are rushing to include 1-inch camera sensors on their devices such as the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Vivo X90 Pro – the OnePlus 11 5G still remains with a roughly the same size sensor since the OnePlus 9 Pro.

After yesterday's launch event, I had the opportunity to interview Jonathan Leung – OnePlus' global marketing executive. The important question I have is why OnePlus doesn't use a 1-inch sensor for the camera?

His answer is because of the price. True, there is no denying that the price of OnePlus 11 5G which starts from RM3299 is the cheapest premium flagship device now compared to Vivo X90 and Samsung Galaxy S23. Apart from the price, Jonathan also stated that OnePlus still believes in the artificial intelligence system and software or computing photography on Oxygen OS.

Then the addition of the collaboration with Hasselblad, has also made the OnePlus 11 5G have a good camera system – especially in portrait mode and night mode with brighter HDR capabilities while details are preserved.

In our tests, between the Vivo X90 Pro, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the OnePlus 11 5G – the OnePlus portrait mode is by far the most convincing. With the OnePlus 11 priced cheaper than rival flagship devices, the IP68 switch to IP64 and the removal of wireless charging are not major factors – rather it is OnePlus' new strategy to focus on Asian markets such as Malaysia.

What do you say, would you buy the OnePlus 11 5G that has great performance, a decent camera and 4 Android version updates and 5 years of security patches?
