Oppo released the MariSilicon X ISP chip two years ago and later launched the MariSilicon Y chip for high-quality audio streaming. There is speculation that this may be their first step to later produce their own processor chips. This confusion will become a reality as early as 2024.
@CellPhoneChipExpert who has a Weibo leak record says this self-designed processor chip will use 4nm technology. This chip also comes with 5G support. In another report, Oppo is believed to have invested $1.4 billion to realize the dream of developing its own chip to reduce dependence on companies such as Qualcomm and MediaTek.
The chip may be shown at the end of this year with the first device using it launching in 2024. If the rumors come true, Oppo will follow in the footsteps of Apple, Huawei, Samsung, Google and Xiaomi having chips of their own design.
