'PSG without Mbappe is just a group of high-paid men'

Paris Saint-German (PSG) lost 0-1 to Bayern Munich in the first leg of the last 16 of the 2022-2023 Champions League. Kylian Mbappe is a hot topic of conversation among netizens around the world.

Many netizens were annoyed why Mbappe was only sent down in the second round. Because the role of a 24-year-old footballer is important.

Evidently, when he was sent down in the second half of the game, Les Parisiens became more dangerous. Mbappe even managed to break into Bayern's goal twice even though the goals were disallowed for offside.

Netizens hope that PSG can reverse the situation in the second leg which will take place at the Allianz Arena, Mayern's headquarters, in three weeks.

Here's a summary of Mbappe's tweets:

"PSG without Mbappe are just a group of high-paid ordinary mas," said @alfanidsgt.

"Mbappe really feels really different," said @ihsannbalyan.

"Did you just know? The one who carried PSG from the past has always been Mbappe," wrote @Bihungoreng1234.

"It's strange why Mbappe didn't play from the start. Just look at how Bayern mastered the game. The PSG coach took too many risks," said @newraafi.

"If PSG play the 2nd leg like they did in the last 20 minutes of this game, they can win on aggregate. Mbappe is very vital for the team," said @MarcosCastroOl2.

Course of the Match

The duel between PSG and Bayern Munich was held at the Parc des Princes Stadium, Wednesday (15/2/2023) in the morning WIB.

Bayern Munich immediately threatened in the first minute. Eric Choupo-Moting beat Marquinhos' mark before firing a long-range shot. The ball is wide.

Furthermore, PSG controlled the ball more. Bayern have so far defended quite solidly and carried out dangerous counter-attacks.

Benjamin Pavard's through ball nearly put Jamal Musiala into the shooting space. However, Sergio Ramos was able to match Musiala's speed, forcing his shot to nest on the outside of the PSG goal.

Another opportunity from Bayern Munich. Kingsley Coman's cross for Eric Choupo-Moting at the near post was met with a header. The ball hit Nuno Mendes' body before going wide.

Next, Coman's stab from the left was continued with a low kick from the edge of the penalty box. The ball looked out of reach for goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma but ended up just wide.

Bayern created the best chance ahead of halftime. Ramos clears Coman's corner. Joshua Kimmich responded with a powerful right-foot shot despite not having tested Donnarumma.

PSG immediately replied. Carlos Soler's collaboration with Marco Verratti was passed on to Lionel Messi. The Argentine superstar was then fouled to result in a free kick. Even though Messi's shot only hit Bayern's living fence. 0-0 score lasted until the end of the first half.
