Qualcomm Snapdragon X75 Modem Launched With Satellite Communication Support

Qualcomm launched the new Snapdragon X75 modem equipped with artificial intelligence to get the best cellular network connection every time. It replaces the Snapdragon X70 used in the existing Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 devices.

According to Qualcomm, the X75 will select the best network to ensure no disruption to cellular service on the device. This will improve cellular capabilities in underground areas, elevators and when in moving vehicles.

The Snapdragon Satellite support announced at MWC last month is also included with the X75. There is a second intelligence that is tasked to ensure that the GPS location can be tracked accurately even in high-density areas.

Even more important is combining RF components for 5G mmWave and Sub 6GHz networks. As a result the physical size of the X75 is 25% smaller and reduces energy consumption by up to 20%. The Snapdragon X75 is currently being tested by customers with the first devices using it due to launch in H2 2023.
