Sonos has long been rumored to be coming with a new series of speakers to replace the Sonos One or those in the Sonos Five family. The new speaker is said to be the Sonos Era series and will compete with the Apple HomePod.
Recently, real images and estimated prices of the Sonor Era 300 and Era 100 have been leaked. The Era 300 is a flagship model that focuses on spatial audio features. Sonos is said to include a USB-C port, WiFi 6 support, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, equipped with six audio drivers located on the top, left and right. Era 300 can also be matched with Sonos Arc or Sonos Beam Gen 2.
Sonos' new flagship speaker is also said to likely support Dolby Atmos spatial audio for Apple Music. As for the Sonos Era 100, this speaker will not support spatial audio but is a replacement for the Sonos One with better performance. This speaker will have two tweeters and a mid-woofer providing bass-focused audio.
Every Sonos Era that will be launched will support fastboot digital assistant Sonos Voice Control or Amazon Alexa without Google Assistant support. Sonos will also sell a combo USB-C to 3.5mm audio jack and ethernet adapter. The launch of Sonor Era is expected to be in March and the price is said to be up to $450 which is around RM1999.
