Angry Birds was one of the popular games at the beginning of the smartphone era. Many people get smartphones that support Angry Birds, and it even became one of the benchmarks for smartphone selection at the time.
Either way, it now seems that the end of the era of the game has come. Rovio has now stated that they will de-list the original Angry Birds game launched in 2009, which is now listed under the name Rovio Classics: Angry Birds.
In addition, on the iOS platform, the game will be rebranded as "Red's First Flight".
The game will be able to continue to be played without problems for existing users, but will no longer be able to be installed on new Android users' devices.
Rovio said the move was taken due to the game's impact on their wider gaming portfolio. This step was also taken by Rovio who is currently in discussions to sell their company.
